Ebong, the youth behind technological growth in Tombel

Brighlight digital center Tombel, evolved from passion and depression. Ebong Makoge arrived in Cameroon on the 8th March 2018. He was full of hopes to contribute positively to his society. He studied at Aptech and Mahatma Gandhi University, where he obtained his Bachelor's degree. In Cameroon, he faced constant rejections, failures, disappointments and circumstances beyond his control. He fought with depression, and no one came to his rescue. From Buea, he moved to Tombel, taking care of his dad (blessed memory). Before convid-19, Ebong was working on a distance learning platform. Aim: to help teachers get better opportunities beyond their physical location. With no adoption success, the project was stopped like many others he was working on. Ebong loves seeking solutions to problems and believes tech is the solution to boost the growth of Cameroon's economy. In Tombel, he engaged himself in part-time teaching. While teaching, he realized there was a huge gap in tech know-how among students and people around him. He founded Brightlight digital center in 2021 to provide a better learning environment, where his community could learn advanced technological skills.

He faced financial challenges and setbacks, but all these did not discourage him because, he has a vision.
